Amstergammon Scoreboard User Manual

Welcome to the Amstergammon Scoreboard, a customizable digital scoreboard designed for backgammon matches. This guide will walk you through all its features.

1. The Main Screen Top

The interface is divided into the Opponent's display (top), your display (bottom), and a central control bar.

• Player Displays: Each player has a panel showing their name and score. The panel of the player with the higher score is highlighted with the chosen color theme. If scores are equal, neither panel is colored.
• Control Bar: This central area contains the main controls for the scoreboard. From left to right: Rotate, Maximize, Settings, Lock/Unlock, and Match Status.

2. Managing the Match Top

You can manage the score and game status from the control bar.

• Locking/Unlocking: The central Lock/Unlock button controls whether scores can be changed. When unlocked, + and - buttons appear next to each player's score. The controls will automatically lock again after 7 seconds of inactivity. Pressing a `+` or `-` button, or changing the match status, will restart this timer. A message "Scores are locked again" will briefly appear when it locks.
• Changing the Score: When unlocked, use the + and - buttons to adjust the score. Score changes are logged when the controls are locked again.
• Game Status: The wide button on the right of the control bar cycles through the match state: Match to [X], Crawford (yellow background), and Post-Crawford. Changing the match status is also logged in the "This Match Log".
• End of Match: When a player reaches the target score, a victory message appears and the final result is saved permanently. After dismissing it, all controls are locked. Tapping the settings or lock button will prompt you to start a new match.

3. The Settings Menu Top

Tap the Settings icon (the gear) to open the settings menu.

• Match Length: Set the number of points required to win.
• Player Names: Tap the names to edit them (up to 40 characters).
• Apply Changes: Saves changes to the match length. This button will turn orange when you have unsaved changes.
• Save Default: Saves the current settings (match length, color scheme, font type, rotation, screen awake status) as a preset. A popup will confirm the preset name and ask to overwrite if it already exists.
• MORE ...: Opens additional settings.

4. More Settings (The "MORE ..." Button) Top

This screen provides access to additional management and customization features.

• New Default Match: Start a new match using a saved preset. This will prompt for confirmation before deleting the current match's detailed score log. If no presets are saved, it will prompt to start a new 7-point match.
• View Log: This opens a choice:
  • This Match Log: Shows a detailed log of all score and status changes for the current match. Each entry includes the match length (e.g., "Match to 7") followed by a timestamp. This log is deleted when a new match is started.
  • All Match Results: View a permanent history of final scores from all your completed matches.
• Instant Settings:
  • Zoom: Adjust the size of the interface.
  • Rotate Opponent: Flips the top panel 180 degrees.
  • Keep Screen Awake: Prevents the screen from turning off. If your browser doesn't support this feature, a message will be displayed.
  • Choose Color & Choose Font: Instantly apply a new color scheme or font for the scores.
• Reset to Initial Values: Resets the scoreboard to its factory settings and deletes all saved presets and match history.
