What is PPT?

PP is short for Precious Point and PPT for Precious Point Tournament.

A Precious Points Tournament is (almost) any tournament run in Amsterdam by amstergammon. In 2023, rottergammon joint the PPTs.

There are two series of PPTs in 2023: the Summer series and the Winter series.

The 2023 Summer series are:

amtergammonrottergammon
8 January29 January
12 February26 February
12 March (HOLLAND mokum OPEN)26 March
9 April30 April
14 May28 May (Rotterdam Open)

The last two tournaments – 14 May and 28 May – have a multiplier of 1.5 (+ 50 %). The multiplier starts after the end of the tournament of 30 April, and ends after the start of the tournament of 28 May.

Reserve date: AG 11 June

How many points can you win?

You earn points, every time you play in a tournament. And every time you play in a quarter entry or a Pool 6.

Tournaments

  • 2 PPs if you participate in a tournament
  • 1 PP for each match you win
  • bonus PPs if you get a prize

Example.

You play an AG's 3-2-1 tournament with 20 players. You win 5 matches. You share the first prize with two other players. With 20 players, there are 5 prizes: 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 bonus PPT. First prize shared by 3: (5+4+3)/3

Your PPs are 2 (participate) + 5 (matches won) + (5+4+3)/3 (bonus) = 2 + 5 + 4 = 11 PPs

Quarter entries (QE)

  • 0.25 PPs if you participate in a QE
  • 0.5 PPs if you win your first match
  • 1 PP if you win the Quarter Entry

A total of 2.00 PPs per QE

Pool 6 (P6)

  • 0.50 PPs if you participate in a P6
  • + 0.25 PPs for every win

A total of 6.75 PPs per P6

You can win a max of 1.75
