What is PPT?

PP is short for Precious Point and PPT for Precious Point Tournament.

A Precious Points Tournament is (almost) any tournament run in Amsterdam by amstergammon. In 2023, rottergammon joint the PPTs.

There are two series of PPTs in 2024: the Summer series and the Winter series.

The 2024 Summer series are:

14 April28 April
12 May26 May (Rotterdam Open)
9 June(30 June)

The last two tournaments – 26 May and 9 June – have a multiplier of 1.5 (+ 50 %). The multiplier starts after the end of the tournament of 12 May, and ends after the start of the tournament of 9 June.

8 December(15/22 December)

How many points can I win?

You earn points, every time you play in a tournament. And every time you play in a Quarter Entry or a Pool 6.

Tournaments

  • 2 PPs when you participate in a tournament
  • 1 PP for each match you win
  • bonus points when you get a prize

Example.

You play an AG's 3-2-1 tournament with 20 players. You, and two other players, win 5 matches. With 20 players, there are 4 prizes, thus 4, 3, 2 and 1 bonus point. First prize shared by 3: (4+3+2)/3

Your PPs are 2 (participation) + 5 (matches won) + (4+3+2)/3 (bonus) = 7 + 3 = 10 PPs

Quarter entries (QE)

  • 0.25 PPs when you participate in a QE
  • + 0.5 PPs when you win your first match
  • + 1 PP when you win that Quarter Entry

You can win a max of 1.75 in a QE

Pool 6 (P6)

  • 0.50 PPs when you participate in a P6
  • + 0.25 PPs for every win

You can win a max of 1.75 in a P6
