The main tournament is on Sunday

The tournament's idea is Jean and Michael Lewicki.

In 2012, Jean Lewicki started “Zandvoort Beach OPEN”.

After his passing, his son Michael renamed it “Zandvoort Beach OPEN – Lewicki Memorial”, and that was the name from 2016 on.

After Covid, it was decided that “Amsterdam Masters on The Beach” was a more appropriate name. The addition  “Lewicki Memorial” remained.

23 February 2025, at 13:30, Michael Lewicki rest in peace.

This year there will be a double Lewicki commemoration.

People still refer to the tournament as “Zandvoort”.

Divisions

Master - Progressive Consolation - 9 points in Main bracket and 5 points in Consolation bracket

• 140 + 10 (this is a PPT tournament)
• optional side pool 40
• clock 18' + 12" in the Main and 10' + 12" in the Consolation
• the delay time can be reduced from 12 to 10 seconds

Advanced - Round Robin or Swiss, 7 points

• 60 + 10
• optional side pool 20
• clock 14' + 12"

It is possible that Advanced and Master play the same tournament,

   if so, the Coeph-system will be used, with rest money for Masters. Or the prize money Advanced is kept apart.

We use the tournament rules of WBGF, explained here. A Dutch translation is available.

We play "Responsible moves" and "Dice not on checkers".
Please notice the adapted ruling for Premature Rolls. It's the opponent's decision to choose between making a move knowing the next roll, or asking for a reroll (but you can't wait for a premature joker roll to point this out).
